First Seattle travel tip: wear comfortable shoes. This city has steep hills downtown, and you'll be walking quite a bit.
Second Seattle travel tip: wear layers. It can be rainy and so cold one minute, but then the sun comes out and it's warm. And speaking of rain...
Third Seattle travel tip: wear waterproof shoes and bring a light rain jacket. It rains quite a bit in Seattle, and when it does, you'll want to be prepared!

Pike Place Bakery
Located right in Pike Place Market, Pike Place Bakery is a great stop to fuel a busy day in Seattle with kids. Here you'll find the largest donuts ever!
Beecherโs Homemade Cheese
If you love cheese, you MUST stop by Beecher's! Located in Pike Place Market, there's on-site cheesemaking and incredible selection of grilled cheese sandwiches
Pirkko
The Pirkko store in downtown Seattle is full of gorgeous, modern designs. Here you'll find a beautiful selection of Marimekko clothes, dรฉcor, accessories, shoes, and more. Design-lovers heaven!
Dragon Box Toystore
The Dragon Box Toy Store is an awesome spot! Definitely one of the best things to do in Seattle with kids. This toy store is in downtown Seattle, not too far from Pike Place Market. It has a vast array of high quality toys, puzzles, games and more. Stop here for unique kidsโ gifts!
Bill & Melinda Gales Foundation Visitors Center
We lucked out and were in town for the grand opening day of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Visitors Center.
This truly interactive, fascinating exhibit highlights the numerous give back programs of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. I cannot begin to explain how incredibly modern, well thought-out, intuitive, and just plain BRILLIANT this center is. You have to go and see, feel, move, draw, photograph, experience for yourself. Take the kids. The last exhibit in particular is made for curious kids and will undoubtedly bring out their creativity.
The Space Needle
The Seattle Space Needle is an absolute MUST visit spot. It's a tall building. You go up in an elevator. You see amazing views. Maybe you dine at the restaurant. It's pretty cool. I have been there many times since childhood but we didn't have time to go this time. Definitely check it out if you have never been to Seattle before.
Pike Place Market
Finally, there is of course the famous Pike Place Market. It's an eclectic mix of hundreds of merchants, bakeries, restaurants, gift shops. The fresh produce is so beautiful to see first thing in the morning, and the vast array of fresh seafood available each day is astounding. It's a busy, active, interactive, colorful, lively circus of joy. Grab a coffee at the First Starbucks Coffee shop ever, and stroll around without an agenda. You will be amazed at what you will find!
