    🌟 Why this recipe works

air fryer steak bites with chopped parsley garnish and a side of broccoli on a plate.

If you've got a busy schedule, you're gonna love this air fryer steak tips recipe! It's become a favorite steak dinner for busy weeknights around here, and I hope you love it, too!

    • Fast - Air fryers often shorten the cooking time for most dishes, and these easy air fryer steak bites are no exception. With a short cook time of 20 minutes total, you'll have a flavorful meal the whole family will love.
    • Easy - No complicated cooking steps here. This is an easy recipe that's great for beginning cooks and seasoned pros alike.
    • Simple - No need for expensive or fancy ingredients here. This recipe calls for 5 basic ingredients. I've got some substitutions and add-in options as well down below.
    • So delicious - Steak doesn't need much to make it delicious, and the air fryer locks in maximum flavor.

    🛒 Ingredient notes

ingredients to make air fryer steak tips in bowls.

You only need five simple ingredients to make this steak recipe! These are basic ingredients you can find in any local grocery store. You probably already have them on hand in your kitchen or pantry!

    • Steak - You can use almost any kind of steak that is your favorite cut. But I find that top sirloin or ribeye steak tend to be the best, as the steak tips come out so juicy and flavorful. Skirt steak is also a more economical, great choice. Cut the steak into bite size pieces.
    • Olive oil - Use extra virgin olive oil.
    • Garlic powder - Just a little garlic powder adds a delicious flavor to the steak.
    • Salt & pepper - Use kosher salt and freshly cracked ground black pepper to season the steak.

    Substitutions and additional optional ingredients

    • Instead of olive oil, you could use grapeseed oil, which has a higher smoke point. Although, you won't be air frying these at too high of a temperature, and not for very long.
    • You could use Montreal Steak Seasoning instead of the garlic powder, salt, and pepper for extra flavor.
    • Sprinkle some red pepper flakes on before air frying if you want to add a little heat to this steak.
    • I usually garnish the finished steak tips with some chopped fresh parsley.

    ✅ Step-by-step instructions

A full list of ingredients and detailed instructions are in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post. But here are some step-by-step photos to help you see how easy it is to make these steak bites!

    • Add the seasoned steak tips to the air fryer basket in a single layer, if you can. It's okay if some pieces overlap.
    • Air fry at 400°F for 4 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
    • Let the steak tips rest for 2-3 minutes before serving and enjoying.

NOTE: This recipe results in medium-rare steak, which is done when a meat thermometer shows an internal temperature of 135°F.

    👩🏻‍🍳 Recipe FAQs

How do I know when my steak is done?

Always use a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of meat to test for doneness. With steak, we usually aim for 135° = Medium Rare. If you want your steak cooked more, cook it for longer, until it reaches 145°F for Medium; 150°F for Medium Well; or 160°F for Well Done.

What's the best way to store steak bites?

Allow the meat to cool completely, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 or 5 days. Reheat in the air fryer.

    🍽 Serving ideas

air fryer steak bites with chopped parsley garnish and a side of broccoli on a plate.

These air fryer steak tips are great to serve as an appetizer, whether you're hosting a casual game day gathering or elegant dinner party.

For game day, serve steak bites with some vegan buffalo sauce or honey mustard sauce for dipping.

For an elegant dinner party, serve on dressed up food picks with a side of horseradish and sour cream. Garnish with chopped chives.

And of course, these air fryer steak tips are perfect for dinner as the main course, topped with a garlic butter sauce or garlic herb compound butter. For a delicious meal, serve them with your favorite sides like french fries, potato salad, pasta salad, broccoli crunch salad. Or serve with a simple side of air fryer broccoli or Instant Pot green beans and Instant Pot basmati rice.

    🍷 🥂 Wine pairings

air fryer steak bites with a glass of dark red wine behind it.

Pair these juicy steak tips with a bold red wine. I love serving these steak bites with Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, or Tempranillo.
