🌟 Why this recipe works

high protein chocolate parfait with strawberries, and crushed oreos.

I love a good chocolate snack, like, pretty much every day. But adding a protein boost makes it extra special.

This chocolate parfait:

  • tastes like a decadent dessert, but it’s actually packed with protein.
  • is perfect for meal prep, post-gym fuel, or a mid-afternoon sweet tooth.
  • is a no-bake recipe — just mix, layer, and chill.
  • can be customized easily with different fruit or toppings.
  • is a kid-friendly and grown-up approved treat!

🛒 Ingredient notes

bowls of ingredients to make a high protein chocolate parfait.

You can whip up this high protein snack with just a few simple ingredients.

  • Chocolate protein powder – Choose a high-quality brand for best flavor and texture. Look for one that blends well and isn’t chalky. A whey isolate or plant-based blend with cocoa powder works great. This is the plant-based chocolate protein powder that I love and use every day.
  • Greek yogurt – Gives the mousse its thick, creamy, tangy base. I use a dairy-free Greek yogurt and it works like a dream as a dairy-free substitute!
  • Strawberries – Fresh, sweet, and perfect with chocolate
  • Oreos – Crushed on top for a crunchy, chocolatey finish. This is totally optional. You can also use a protein cookie for a healthier swap.

  • Top with remaining Greek yogurt.
  • Sprinkle with crushed Oreo cookies and more chopped strawberries.

👩🏻‍🍳 Recipe FAQs

Can I freeze this parfait?

It’s best served chilled, not frozen. Freezing can change the texture of the cream and make the fruit mushy.

Can I make this high protein parfait ahead of time?

Yes! Store it in the fridge for up to 3 days. Just add the cookie topping right before serving for the best crunch.

Tips for Making the Best Chocolate Protein Parfait

  • For a layered look, use clear glasses or jars.
  • Let the parfaits chill for at least 30 minutes before serving for best texture.
  • Add a pinch of sea salt on top for a sweet-salty flavor boost.
