First, preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and set aside.
Roll out the prepared sugar cookie dough into a large thin square, about ¼" to ½" thickness.
Bake the sugar cookie dough according to package directions.
While the cookie dough is baking, make the cream cheese mixture. In a stand mixer or a large mixing bowl using a hand mixer, beat the softened cream cheese until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Then gently fold in the cool whip topping and mix in the vanilla. Set aside.
After the cookie dough has fully baked and cooled, spread the cream cheese mixture of the entire top of the dough.
Place blueberries in neat rows to create the corner design of the flag.
Then place rows of sliced strawberries and raspberries to create the "stripes" of the American flag.
Slice into squares and serve.
Notes
Makes approximately 6-8 servings.Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 or 3 days. The sugar cookie crust will get soft and the fruit will get dry the longer it's in the fridge, so this patriotic dessert is really best eaten within 24 hours.
